This is a cute funny, delicious simple story told in verse about a unique, adaptable and happy young square black bear preparing for hibernation. It a sweet yet powerful story for any child celebrating differences, being prepared and contentment. The wonderfully vibrant watercolor illustrations bring this beautiful story to life. As with all kids, he's a bit messy, and so the fun begins for the reader and the listener as you watch this independent 'child' fend for himself. His thought processes are fun to watch as he makes quick choices, stops to think things through and compromises. Eventually, he will be pleased with himself and the goals he has achieved. There are little life lessons to be learned that will inspire children to embrace their own uniqueness and being prepared for life.
