Rhys Jenkins lives a miserable and lonely life. Abandoned by his father at an early age, he suffers with a rare and debilitating disorder that restricts him from leaving home. He can't find work, friends, or love. He's a recluse, content reading his Jules Verne novels and listening to Brian Eno in the sanctuary of his bedroom. Each and every day passes without meaning or purpose, and just as he thinks life couldn't get any worse, his beloved grandfather is taken ill. Now Rhys is on the verge of losing the only person who ever truly understood him.
