Reseña del libro "The Town Forgot (en Inglés)"

Mara Hawley has kept her distance from Mount Kismet for ten years. When her former teacher dies, she returns for the funeral and a box left in her name. She plans to be gone in forty-eight hours. Then she finds two versions of the same photograph. In one, she is wearing her graduation gown. In the town's copy, the gown is gone, and the caption no longer says she graduated. With help from a former classmate whose warnings she once dismissed, Mara begins comparing the town's records with what survives beyond its boundaries. Their search leads to a schoolhouse tragedy in 1899-and accounts that have quietly lost the warnings nobody wanted to hear.Meanwhile, her parents welcome her home. There are familiar meals, small kindnesses, and the possibility of belonging again. Even the memories that drove her away begin to feel less certain.Mara can preserve the evidence outside Mount Kismet. But the longer she stays, the harder it becomes to trust herself enough to leave.
