Alyson Richman (Estados Unidos, c. 1972) es una reconocida autora de best sellers y talentosa pintora, graduada en 1994 por Wellesley College con especialización en Historia del Arte y Estudios Japoneses. Tras recibir la prestigiosa beca Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, viajó a Japón donde se convirtió en aprendiz de uno de los últimos talladores de máscaras Noh en Kioto, experiencia que inspiró su primera novela The Mask Carver's Son (2000). Su obra combina magistralmente su profundo amor por el arte, la investigación histórica y los viajes, consolidándose como una de las voces más respetadas de la ficción histórica contemporánea.
