To Wizard Mountain is a story about a little girl named Chara who lives with her grandmother in a hut in the forest. Chara goes on a journey to find the rainbow of foods as they have the blues of foods and are in need of the reds and yellows too. She journeys through a dark forest where she receives hope and faith with a song. She gets through and befriends three animals (a cow, cat, and bird). When a balance is gathered of all the food groups, Chara returns to grandmothers hut where a surprise awaits and they plant a garden and become self-sufficient with sustainability. Educational as the food groups are gathered (grain, fruit, vegetable, protein, dairy and sweets & fats). Promotes sustainability and self-sufficiency. Encourages goodness as Chara helps the animals(cow, cat, and bird). Healthful as a balance is sought. A song brings hope and faith to get through the dark forest(often children must leave their home.
