Robert Louis Stevenson wrote Treasure Island in 1881. Robert Louis Stevenson published a fictional tale of adventure about an expedition to an unnamed Caribbean island to recover a treasure that had been buried there in 1750. The map that was in Stevenson's Treasure Island book was drawn by him and his father and is probably the most famous treasure map in the world. It is set in the days of sailing ships and pirates and tells of the adventures of Jim Hawkins and his search for the buried treasure of an evil pirate, Captain Flint. ... Jim finds a map in Billy's sea chest just before Blind Pew returns with a band of evil pirates. Robert Louis Stevenson (Edimburgo, Escocia, 1850 - Samoa, 1894) es un escritor escocés, es uno de los grandes clásicos de la literatura del siglo XIX. Maestro de la novela de aventuras y fantasía, su obra alcanzó un éxito popular y perdurable. Entre sus títulos más célebres se encuentran La isla del tesoro (1883), El extraño caso del Dr. Jekyll y Mr. Hyde (1886) y Flecha negra (1888), todas ellas traducidas a múltiples idiomas y adaptadas en numerosas ocasiones al cine, teatro y televisión. Debido a su frágil salud, Stevenson fue un incansable viajero, convirtiéndose también en un destacado ensayista de viajes. Pasó sus últimos años en las Islas Samoa, donde falleció.
