I don't understand how we got here.

I stand here between two organizations who wish to destroy each other, destroy us, in a city that burns, blazes, and bleeds.

I do not understand how we became the bridge, the common thread between the Rinkhals and the Agency, who wish to erase us-two illegal runaways harboring raw power in our genomes, and I'm trapped in the middle of a crumbling city with old friends and new foes. Because the Rinkhals have something new, a weapon, a nightmare with a heartbeat, and we aren't the only ones with a powerhouse inside our genetic codes.

Sometimes our worst enemies are our own flesh and blood.

Sometimes it's easier to let a city burn than to face those enemies.

I do not understand how we got here. But I do know that I will stop at nothing to save those I care about.
