This volume quickens with a satirical look at life; in ways that make you laugh and at times leave you wanting to reach out and lend a helping hand. Of course, Mom and Dad return as well; tossing fuel into Carissa's mental fire. In reality, they help lay the groundwork that this coed will need while enduring the years to come...in a painful, parental sort of way. Through it all, she continues on the ultimate journey of exploring and attempting to balance a sex life; one that builds and strips clean like a spreadsheet tossed into a blender. Missed opportunities, however; are not to be found in any of their curriculum. Life is messy, she finds, but that doesn't oblige it's not being enjoyable or sexy when you learn to roll with the punches. Plenty of chocolate syrup and hair flips while 'driving in reverse' help achieve such a rolling.
