Es un mangaka. Comenzó siendo asistente de Shin Morimura y en 2000 debutó con Planetes, que más tarde tuvo adaptación de anime.

En 2004 publicó Sayonara ga chikai no de, un one-shot sobre los últimos días de Akita Soli, capitán del primer escuadrón de los Shinsengumi.

En 2005 comenzó la publicación de Vinland Saga en la Shukan Shonen Magazine, pero más tarde se trasladó a la Afternoon.

Excelente obra de Makoto Yukimura. Esta edición deluxe es todo lo que un fan de Vinland Saga podría pedir, si estas por empezar a coleccionar los tomos, yo recomendaría esta edición debido a que vienen 3 tomos en 1, con una calidad de la hojas impecables y de mayor tamaño, además de tener una linda tapa dura y extras.

La Mejor Edición Hardcover de Vinland, su material (Parecido a la gamusa) y el relieve le queda impecable, lo único que cambiaria es el precio (Argentina) donde aunque este 1er vol no este tan mal, hay volumenes que superan los USD$80 $90 EN 50% de Descuento.

Lo que mas me importaba de este pedido, es que llegara en buenas condiciones, cosa que cumplio sin problemas. A parte de eso, el manga de Vinland Saga es una obra bellísima, explora temas como el odio, la venganza, la redención, etc. Sin dudas recomiendo este manga a todas las personas.
