Voices from beyond (en Inglés) - Adrian Conerth

At night, on a wet road, Axel drives alone. Then the car goes off the road. Accident or sabotage - no one knows yet. She is brought to the hospital in a coma.

The body remains on the bed. Her consciousness awakens on a threshold: neither life nor death. The doctor on duty, Ramos, touches his pulse and feels something he has only felt a few times in his life. At first he thinks it is fatigue. Then he hears a whisper. Then a voice. Together, on both sides of the skin, they begin to see what the family next to the bed wants to hide: a husband, a brother, a lawyer, a term of months, a signature that walks without it.

Voices from Beyond is a novel about a woman who can no longer speak and yet speaks, about a doctor who risks his robe to keep a rhythm, and about the justice that is done not only in court, but also on a threshold where the living and those who are no longer are still making their voices heard.

Adrian Conerth publishes Voices from Beyond, a literary thriller about coma, betrayal and a bond that does not fit into a file. If you’ve ever sat next to a bed and wondered if the person on the pillow can still hear, this novel answers you differently than medicine: yes. And sometimes what it hears can change everything that is signed down in the hallway.
