We were the Outsiders is a novel about a girl, Quinn, from Alabama, who started her day as any other. Suddenly she is given information that sends her world into a tail spin. With the president calling for the round up of citizens and their transport to Holding Sites, Quinn does the only things she knows to do, fight back. She leads her friends on a journey up the East Coast to a Rebel camp in Virginia. They run into their share of problems from the president's army of Shields to hungry wildlife, and though they eventually reach their destination, they are all changed in the process. This story focuses on Quinn and her relationship with those around her from her sister Nora, to the Rebel leader Paul, and even a love interest or two. She overcomes insurmountable odds to keep those she loves safe, while preserving the dignity of her country.
