She agrees to take war evacuee children fleeing from the bombing in the cities and gives them a loving, secure home in the country. She then agrees to help refugees fleeing from Europe and let them live on her parents estate during the war. She and her Grandmother are Sponsors for Jewish children in need of coming to Britain to escape the Nazis invasion in Europe. It is a story of fortitude, determination in difficult times during World War 11. There is heartbreak, sadness in France. A love story in Britain and hints of the early formation of the Special Air Service a very secret military operation. Scattered with facts of the progress of the war and its effects world wide.
