As a Historian, I've had the opportunity to study various cultures and their religious views, spiritual beliefs, and philosophical thoughts throughout the ages. While doing so, I came across many quotes, proverbs, and popular phrases. Some of these were very familiar, while others were obscure and/or variations of some more common sayings. I began collecting the ones that appeared to be anonymous, and even added a few of my own creation. I started utilizing this compilation for classroom review, student warm-up activities, and even as a means to entertain guests at my home. They help foster discussion, debate, and higher level thinking skills. Many of them are also motivating and inspirational. What I now share with you, took over fifteen years to collect and publish.
