Miguel Quintana Pali (1945) nació en Boston, Massachusetts, pasó su infancia en Santiago de Chile y su adolescencia en la Ciudad de México y Monterrey. Arquitecto "descalzo" y gran emprendedor, en 1972 inició la cadena de boutiques de muebles y decoración Pali, que llegó a tener sucursales en Satélite, Perisur, Insurgentes Sur y Periférico en Lomas de Chapultepec. En 1985 quemó sus naves en la Ciudad de México para iniciar una carrera de parquero en Xcaret, parque que se inauguró cinco años después. En 1994 obtuvo, junto con sus socios, los hermanos Constandse, la concesión del parque federal Xel-Há y en tres décadas ha abierto cinco parques más (Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xoximilco, Xenses y el recientemente inaugurado Xavage), además de excursiones turísticas, entre las que destacan Xichén y Xenotes. En 2012, Xcaret obtuvo el premio Ulysses de la Organización Mundial del Turismo y, en 2018, el Liseberg Aplause Award al mejor parque del mundo. Miguel Quintana es uno de los empresarios mexicanos más reconocidos a nivel internacional por su ingenio, el desarrollo que el Grupo Xcaret ha traído a la península de Yucatán, su fuerte conciencia social y por crear la embajada de México más visitada del mundo.
