David Levithan (Nueva Jersey, 1972) es un reconocido autor y editor estadounidense, destacado por su contribución a la literatura juvenil con temáticas LGBTQ+. Graduado en Literatura Inglesa y Ciencias Políticas por la Universidad de Brown, ha desempeñado un papel clave como director editorial en Scholastic y fundador del sello PUSH, dedicado a descubrir nuevos talentos en la literatura juvenil . Su obra se caracteriza por abordar con sensibilidad y originalidad las experiencias de jóvenes queer, consolidándolo como una voz influyente en el género.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran Chico conoce a chico (2003), Dos chicos besándose (2013), Cada día (2012), Will Grayson, Will Grayson (2010, coautoría con John Green) y Ryan y Avery (2024). Su trayectoria ha sido reconocida con premios como el Lambda Literary Award y el Margaret A.
