They say blood is thicker than water, but for Ava and Casey, family has always been a foreign concept.

Ava and Casey had each other as they navigated life in foster care, and they've remained close despite their different desires. Ava focused on creating the life she never had-a white picket fence, husband chasing their kids through the sprinkler, and their rescued St. Bernard lying underneath a lemon tree-while dating the prospects of Indianapolis with no success. 

Casey's goal has always been to find his biological family. 

After years of disappointment, dead ends, and sleepless nights, Casey discovers information that leads to not only his birth parents, but also Cole, his twin brother.

Casey begs Ava to befriend Cole in an attempt to gather information about his family and find the answers he's been looking for. Ava promises to help her best friend, but soon she feels torn between her loyalty to Casey and her growing feelings for Cole. 

Eventually, she's faced with a difficult decision: follow her heart or keep her promise?
