Duets Four Tubas is a set of four tuba duet suites of a medium to medium- difficult level which explores several styles and tonalities. As literature specifically written for the tuba is not as extensive as for some other instruments, this set is designed to meet that need. The pieces are planned to showcase tubas to audiences who may not realize the musicality of the tuba, and to challenge tuba players to improve their skills. The duets "Four for Two" and "Frontier" contain mostly traditional styles, while "A New Adventure" contains various time signatures. "An Unusual Suite" explores non-traditional tonalities. All of the duets give both players opportunities to be playing melody some of the times and harmony at others. The ranges may stretch the abilities of some players, but they are not extreme and are meant to be a challenge.
