Peter H. Wilson es un historiador británico nacido en 1963, especializado en historia militar y en la historia del Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico. Desde 2015, ocupa la Cátedra Chichele de Historia Bélica en el All Souls College de la Universidad de Oxford. Su investigación se centra en el impacto de la guerra en el desarrollo europeo y mundial, así como en la historia del Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran La guerra de los Treinta Años. Una tragedia europea (2009), El Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico: Mil años de historia de Europa (2016) y Hierro y sangre: Una historia militar de los pueblos de habla alemana desde 1500 (2022), esta última galardonada con la Medalla del Duque de Wellington en 2023. Su trabajo ha sido reconocido por su profundidad académica y su capacidad para contextualizar los conflictos bélicos dentro de la historia política y cultural europea.
