Joe Hill, cuyo nombre real es Joseph Hillström King, nació el 4 de junio de 1972 en Bangor, Maine (Estados Unidos). Es hijo de los también autores Stephen King y Tabitha King, aunque adoptó un seudónimo para forjar su propia identidad literaria. Su obra se enmarca principalmente en el género del terror, la fantasía oscura y la ciencia ficción.

Hill debutó con la colección de cuentos 20th Century Ghosts en 2005, que le valió diversos premios. Su primera novela, Heart‑Shaped Box (2007), alcanzó el éxito y lo catapultó a la lista de los más vendidos. Posteriormente publicó Horns (2010), NOS4A2 (2013) y The Fireman (2016), consolidándose como una voz innovadora en el terror contemporáneo. Además, co‑creó la serie de cómic Locke & Key (2008‑2013) con el dibujante Gabriel Rodriguez, que también fue adaptada para televisión, expandiendo su popularidad.

No tengo como explicar lo excelente y adictivo de este libro. Les prometo que no se van a arrepentir de leerlo. Lo complejo de cada personaje y la hermosura de lo que yo considero es su arco de redención, hacen de este libro una excelente obra.
