This book is a fictional story about a young government employee's entrance into the wonderland world of foreign counter-intelligence in Washington, D.C. in the 21st century, where he is introduced into life in the nation's capitol under the now notorious FISA and Patriot Acts. He is told what to do, but not what is doing, all in ambiguous double-talk. When he is given time to think by his ever-lurking boss, he must figure out for himself what is actually taking place on the computer screen right in front of him. Why does his instructor say he is reaching ""a point of no return? Why does his girl-friend seem to know more about his type of work than he does? Why does the person on the screen talk a problems about Iraq, and what the U.S. government is planning to do about them ? Why is he looking at scenes on the computer screen apparently showing ordinary Americans talking in their homes? The author uses 40 years of legal experience in both private and government employment to build a puzzling story of what the U.S. government seems to be doing.
