Piranesi lives in the House. Perhaps he always has. Susanna Clarke (Nottingham, 1959) es una escritora británica reconocida por su enfoque distintivo en la fantasía histórica. Su debut literario, Jonathan Strange y el señor Norrell (2004), combina magia y realismo en una Inglaterra alternativa del siglo XIX. La novela fue un éxito internacional, vendiendo más de cuatro millones de copias y obteniendo premios como el Hugo y el World Fantasy Award. En 2006, publicó Las damas de Grace Adieu, una colección de cuentos ambientados en el mismo universo mágico.

Tras un período de inactividad debido al síndrome de fatiga crónica, Clarke regresó en 2020 con Piranesi, una novela que explora la soledad y la identidad en un mundo laberíntico.
