Numerous people pick up the Bible and draw a conclusion concerning the reality of the text. Unfortunately, most of these differ one from another and sometimes even contradict previous interpretations offered. Why does this happen? If there exists no error in Scripture, wouldn't every person draw the same conclusions from the text? No, because though the text is inerrant, our interpretations are not. Our interpretations are as fallible as we are. We over and under spiritualize, we ignore the rules of interpretation, we read our schools of thought into the passage, and we force the Word to support our views by over emphasizing certain passages, while ignoring others. If this is true, then how can we possibly hope to interpret a verse like John 3:16? The answer is simple. We let the Bible interpret itself. And that is exactly what this book hopes to accomplish.
