Alan Grant (1949–2022) fue un prolífico guionista escocés de cómics, reconocido por su trabajo en 2000 AD y en títulos de DC Comics como Batman y Detective Comics. Nacido en Bristol, Inglaterra, se trasladó a Escocia a una edad temprana. Su carrera en los cómics comenzó en la editorial DC Thomson, donde desempeñó diversos roles editoriales y de escritura, incluyendo la redacción de horóscopos. Más tarde, se unió a 2000 AD, donde colaboró estrechamente con John Wagner en historias emblemáticas de Judge Dredd, como The Apocalypse War y The Judge Child Quest. Juntos, también crearon personajes como Strontium Dog y Robo-Hunter.
