11-18-2012 My Transition I had just left the bank early one morning, after withdrawing some money. I was heading downtown to purchase a ticket to leave town. The Lord had other ideas. He was not going to let me leave without getting things straight first. The entire time that I engaged in the wicked and ungodly corrupt ways of the unbelieving, I had an answer for those who would inquire as to how long I was planning to do the things I was doing. I would tell them, until God took the fun out of it. Across the street from the bank was a fast-food restaurant. I needed to use their restroom, so I decided to hurry and use their restroom before the next bus came. I was no more than 75 feet from the intersection, but since the cross traffic was held up by the red light, I decided to cross. Going between the stopped vehicles and approaching the third lane, I was hit by an oncoming car. I was knocked over the hood of the car and onto the pavement, face down. As I slowly raised myself from the street, I heard a soft voice inside telling me, "The fun is over". Within the next 48 hours, I was invited to attend a Bible study, which I quickly accepted. After attending a few of these meetings, another voice within me spoke again. It told me that I was to reach, teach and encourage people and I knew what that meant. After arriving in Phoenix, Arizona several months later, I was directed to a Bible scripture. This leading is what some might refer to as my subconscious. It did not matter where or who this direction came from, I knew that it was directing me to the latter part of 1 Peter 5:10. I also took this as God telling me that my sinful past was, in essence, suffering and that suffering was still on the horizon, but in the meantime, I would be strengthened, settled, grounded and matured. I took it as my anchor, knowing that the good work He had begun in me, He will complete, Philippians 1:6.
