Computers and Software technology are quintessential today - but rarely of enough interest for everyone to learn it. Business leaders / managers often give it a miss, some are able to understand how technology works but some don't 'get' even that much. Tech today is like the Nitrogen we breathe - 78% of air but barely noticed. However, without nitrogen, we'd not even exist.
