13 year old Kristina lives in Tanport, an Indiana city in the year of 2069. This community has two levels of society- the Exceptionals and the Untouchables. Kristina lives with her family unit in the Exceptional division of the city. One night, she meets a boy at the park, drastically past the 9:00 curfew. The boy, Kipp, is killed on the spot, but Kristina makes a narrow escape. Just when she thinks she is in the clear, she is called out of school the next day. Government workers transfer her to become an Untouchable. After she is forced to be a servant for her former friend's family unit, she realizes how terribly the Untouchables are treated. Kristina plans a rebellion with other Untouchables. How will it turn out?
