Orlando Figes (Londres, 1959) es un historiador británico, nacionalizado alemán en 2017, especializado en la historia de Rusia y Europa del Este. Se formó en la Universidad de Cambridge y fue profesor en el Trinity College y en el Birkbeck College de la Universidad de Londres hasta su jubilación en 2022. Es conocido por su enfoque narrativo y accesible en obras de historia cultural y política, y es miembro de la Royal Society of Literature desde 2003.

Entre sus libros más destacados se encuentran La tragedia de un pueblo: La revolución rusa, 1891-1924 (1996), galardonado con el Premio Wolfson; El baile de Natasha: Una historia cultural de Rusia (2002); Los que susurran: La represión en la Rusia de Stalin (2007); y La historia de Rusia (2022).
