Eleanor Coerr (Kamsack, 1922 - Nueva York, 2010) fue una escritora canadiense de libros infantiles. Comenzó su carrera profesional como reportera periodística y editora. Enseñó literatura infantil en el Monterey Peninsula College y escritura creativa en el Chapman College en California. Publicó, entre otras, la novela Sadako y las mil grullas de papel, que cuenta la historia de Sadako Sasaki, una niña de Hiroshima que murió de leucemia por los efectos causados por la bomba atómica lanzada sobre la ciudad de Hiroshima en 1945.
