It tells of a friendship forged amid the horrors of a war far from home. Through original diary excerpts, letters from the Front, and rare photographs, the author shares their story, and brings it full circle by connecting the reader with a return to Verdun 100 years later and with a reunion of the descendants of both men's families through four generations.
