Many conscientious students feel that in order to improve their grades and their performance on tests, they need to spend more time. Often this is not the case. If you are buying this for a child (your child or grandchild, for example) if they are below the tenth grade, I recommend going over the material with them. It can be fun. If the child gets an answer wrong (such as the wrong sentence in the main idea section), rather than telling them that it's wrong, say something like: "That's interesting. I thought the main idea was..." and then say why: point out how the rest of the ideas support the main idea. That way, the book can be a pleasant bonding experience.
