For almost 90 years he has sought to find the tasks to fit his talents. This chronicle recounts his life. Educated as a marine engineer, 21-year-old Ensign Caleb Warner served on a U.S. Navy repair ship off the south coast of England during the Normandy Invasion. A versatile trumpet player and small sailboat competitor, he later married and raised a family while working in New England's burgeoning post-war, high-tech industries. An avid problem solver and inventor, he developed and built contemporary harpsichords, then introduced an electronic harpsichord in the pre-synthesizer age. Ultimately, he discovered that he was, at his best, an entrepreneur. His New England-based one-man business drew on a cadre of highly-skilled colleagues, "guild"-style. Through this work, Warner and his peers tackled a series of engineering and technological projects in the medical and applied acoustics fields. Throughout it all, this husband and father also found time to be a musician, sailor and active community member.
