Short stories crafted from existing tales, using mix and match technique. Characters from Grimm and Poe to Rowling and Disney are used, but with different plots and settings. For example, the wicked Queen had a mirror that spoke to her, Count Petrov the vampire has paintings. For characters who could change into animals, Rowling used the term Animagus. For the same function these tales call them Magimorphs, and so on, using the old to create the new. Goldilocks is a fifth grade boy in the home of the three bears, and has an entirely different problem. And unlike the brothers Grimm, as promised, nobody gets eaten. The Kirkus review called it an amusing and light hearted take on fairy tales.
